The Baltimore Ravens are playing more aggressively with more offensive weapons. There have been no sacks. The offensive line have been holding its own. Ryan Jensen still looking good at center. Austin Howard is starting at right tackle and Jarrod Pughsley is starting at right guard.
Defense is doing what it normally does. Stop everything in its path.
The Dolphins running backs are not able to move much further than the line of scrimmage. Ravens defense have stopped everything in its path. Brandon Williams, Brent Urban and Michael Pierce have managed to stop every Dolphins running back heading straight down the middle. Williams got his hands on a Dolphins running back for a loss of yards on a tackle. The Dolphins even started no-huddle plays. That did not help a lot.
The Ravens seemed to have slippery fingers early in the game. They fumbled twice but luckily able to recover both times.
Brent Urban got his first sack of the game and during that play Terrell Suggs received a holding penalty. That gave the Dolphins an automatic first down. Fortunately, the defense kept it up and the Dolphins did not capitalize on it.
Mallett threw a deep ball intended for wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo that was intercepted by Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard.
Both teams went three and out and were scoreless at the end of the first quarter.
The Ravens allowed only 61 yards and two tackles for loss.
The Dolphins were first to score in 2nd quarter with an 11-yard touchdown. They got good field position due to safety Chuck Clark getting a facemask penalty.
Veteran wide receiver Jeremy Maclin makes his first catch of the game, giving the team a first down but is taken down immediately.
Tight end Benjamin Watson makes his first catch of the game for a first down. This is his first game since going down last season with an ACL injury.
Running back Buck Allen got in a couple of snaps to move the ball downfield. He can find the holes in the defense quickly and can get to first down.
Justin Tucker is the hero of the first half. He makes a 52-yard field goal and on a punt, a Dolphins’ receiver fumbled the ball and it was recovered by Justin Tucker. Way to go! He finishes off the play with a 27 yard field goal.
On a Dolphins punt, wide receiver Chris Matthews blocked a kick and recovered it inside the five yard line. Good job!
At first and goal, Buck Allen gets down to one-yard line. He could not gain any yards on second and goal but at third and goal, newly sighed tight end Larry Donnell gets one yard touchdown reception. Way to go!!
Rookie wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo caught pass and as he went down, the ball was stripped by Dolphins defensive back. After review, it was a ruled as an interception. Adeboyejo was not aggressive at all trying to hold onto the ball.
Ravens recorded 50 rushing yards, 113 passing yards and two turnovers.
