Baltimore Ravens 2017 NFL Schedule

The Ravens announced their 2017 schedule a few days ago and according to articles by Ravenswire.com and CBSsports.com, the team has the ninth easiest schedule for the new season.

What does that mean for the Ravens? More pressure to succeed. That is what it should mean. The Ravens have missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2004-2005. Joe Flacco need to find a way to lead his team to the Super Bowl.

After looking over the schedule, I have come up with these tidbits:

  • The team opens on the road and closes at home.
  • For the first time, the Ravens will travel to London during Week 3 to play the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley stadium. This game will air at 9:30am EST on Sunday, September 24. This will also be the first time the Ravens play a game that early.
  • This season the team will be playing three home games in October, Weeks 4, 6 and 8. Normally, the team struggles in October due to playing on the road during that month.
  • The Ravens’ bye week is Week 10. A little more than halfway through the season.
  • The Ravens will play a Monday night game at home on Week 12, which is November 27 against the Houston Texans. The last time the team played a Monday night game was in 2012 and they won against the Cincinnati Bengals at home. Hopefully, this will become be a streak.
  • This season, the team only has two sets of two-straight home games Weeks 12 & 13 and Weeks 16 & 17 and one set of two-straight away games which are Weeks 14 & 15.  There are no three-straight games at home or away.
  • There are two afternoon games, Weeks 5 and 16. The first game will be played against the Oakland Raiders at the O.co Coliseum and the second game will be played at home.
  • There are three primetime games, Weeks 8, 12 and 14. The first two games are played at home and the last game will be played against the Ravens’ arch rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Week 8 will be played on Thursday, October 26. Week 12 will be played on Monday, November 27. Week 14 will be played on Sunday, December 10.

Here is the schedule:

  • Week 1 – Cincinnati Bengals – away – September 10 – 1pm
